Since 2011 PFSA’s is supporting South Asia’s Governments to improve results on the ground and increase innovation by:

  • Creating space for investment and innovation in the water, energy, and transport sectors, and climate change area.
  • Supporting the transformation of economies to more inclusive growth, leading to more jobs and better quality jobs.
  • Providing backbone knowledge for a continuous and informed dialogue with the governments of the region.
  • Facilitating global and regional connections to boost prosperity in the region.

Impact Evaluation Northern Areas Reduction-of-Poverty Initiative (NARI) project Bangladesh South Asia Gender initiative To determine whether the Northern Areas Reduction-of-Poverty Initiative (NARI) project has had a significant impact on the earnings and socio-economic welfare of female beneficiaries in Bangladesh. The NARI project facilitates access to employment opportunities in the garment sector for poor and vulnerable women from lagging areas of Bangladesh by providing information, technical and life-skills training, transitional housing, and other support in order to adjust to urban life and formal sector employment.
Transaction Advisory Services for Public Private Partnerships for Rural Water Supply Schemes in Andhra Pradesh India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To assist the Government of Andhra Pradesh in designing a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program based on the Design-Build and Operate model, as part of the Andhra Pradesh Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project.
Kerala Solid Waste Management Assessment India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To generate a demand for institutional and technical improvements in the municipal solid waste management sector in the State of Kerala.
Preparation of an institutional development program for rural water supply and sanitation (WSS) sector institutions in the State of Uttarakhand, India India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To assist the Government of Uttarakhand in preparing an institutional development program for two rural water and sanitation sector institutions, taking into consideration international good practices.
India - Female Labor Force Participation India South Asia Gender initiative The activity improved the understanding of a sharp decline in the participation of women in the labor force in India observed between 2004-05 and 2009-10 National Sample Survey (NSS-EUS) rounds. This analytical work, using rigorous analytical and econometric methods and other relevant data sources, as well as piloting instruments helped understand the gender implication of labor market outcomes.
Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the Water and Sanitation Initiative (WSI) India India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To develop a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for the WSI trust fund.
Study on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in Urban Sewerage Sector in India India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To support Ministry of Urban Development in the assessment of the current state of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in sewerage in Indian cities and to help build its capacity to formulate policies, action plans and toolkits aimed at scaling up PPPs in sewerage, as well as to share lessons from countries that have dealt with similar challenges.
