Since 2011 PFSA’s is supporting South Asia’s Governments to improve results on the ground and increase innovation by:

  • Creating space for investment and innovation in the water, energy, and transport sectors, and climate change area.
  • Supporting the transformation of economies to more inclusive growth, leading to more jobs and better quality jobs.
  • Providing backbone knowledge for a continuous and informed dialogue with the governments of the region.
  • Facilitating global and regional connections to boost prosperity in the region.

Impact Evaluation Northern Areas Reduction-of-Poverty Initiative (NARI) project Bangladesh South Asia Gender initiative To determine whether the Northern Areas Reduction-of-Poverty Initiative (NARI) project has had a significant impact on the earnings and socio-economic welfare of female beneficiaries in Bangladesh. The NARI project facilitates access to employment opportunities in the garment sector for poor and vulnerable women from lagging areas of Bangladesh by providing information, technical and life-skills training, transitional housing, and other support in order to adjust to urban life and formal sector employment.
Formulating and Instituting a Long-Term Sustainability Framework for Rural Water Supply Service Delivery in Karnataka India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To scale-up the pilot 24/7 water-supply schemes demonstrated in three cities (Hubli-Dharwad, Belgaum, and Gulbarga) under the earlier Karnataka Urban Water Supply Modernization Project (KUWASIP) to provide high quality, continuous water services in these cities and leverage private investments where possible.
Preparation of a detailed institutional restructuring program and implementation plan for rural Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) sector institutions in the State of Uttarakhand, India India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To assist the Government of Uttarahkand in preparing an institutional restructuring program and implementation plan. The actual implementation is supported through the ongoing Uttarakhand rural water and sanitation project.
Support to Preparation of Regional Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) National Program for Lagging States, India India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To provide technical assistance and support to the Ministry of Drinking Water Supply in developing a reform program for sustainable coverage of the rural water and sanitation system in the Lagging States by focusing on critical issues that will have impact on a successful program design.
Financial Assessment of Maharastra's Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) Reform India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To carry out a rapid analysis of the likely financial implications of undertaken water supply reforms on the net income and revenue of 180 cities.
Supporting Innovations and Capacity-building for Ganga Clean-up and Conservation India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To support the implementation of the National Ganga River Basin Project and assist India in its renewed efforts of cleaning and conserving the Ganga (Ganges) River.
Assessment of Proposals for Rajasthan Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) Project India Water Supply & Sanitation in India To undertake a rapid assessment of the State of Rajasthan's Public Health Engineering Department proposals for financial, institutional, technical approaches to providing water supply and how the resource allocation challenge can be addressed without adversely impacting current users of the water.
